UK software sales – November 21, 2021 – Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have biggest Switch launch of 2021

This week’s UK software sales are in, and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are off to a strong start. The two games placed at #1 and #2 respectively. The double pack also made the top ten.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are now the biggest launches on Switch of 2021 having toppled Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. Brilliant Diamond actually managed to do that by itself.
For sales across all platforms, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl had the second biggest boxed game launch of the year for 2021. They’re behind FIFA 22 but ahead of Call of Duty: Vanguard.
To compare these titles to other Pokemon releases, launch sales are down 26 percent compared to Sword and Shield. However, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are up 13 percent compared to Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee.
