The Automatic Path Mod is a little Minecraft fabric mod for 1.17.1/1.16.5. This turns grass into a non-permanent route for players, mobs, and monsters to walk on.

Making a Path
The ability for monsters to create paths is disabled by default.
- If you want pathways to remain permanent, there is a setting for that. If you walk 12 times on a state 5 block in the maximum state, it will become permanent. You have the option to adjust the amount.
Path Block Blocks
- Replace the grass in the areas where you walk the most! Sugar cane, saplings, grass, and flowers can be planted on the walkway, but only if it is sufficiently grassy. Using a hoe, you may also turn them into farmland.
To make a magnificent lawn, combine 1 soil meal with 1 bone meal to make 1 lawn block.
- To create 4 lawn blocks, combine.
- 1 grass block and 1 bone meal.
The grass block is completely walk-proof and will never turn into a trail. And it will maintain its lovely green hue regardless of the biome you are in! It also ensures that sheep never run out of pasture!
Configuration
You can alter the number of times you switch between two states.
Allow mobs to create paths. Make the path permanent.
- Mod Menu allows you to perform this in-game.
- Alternatively, if you don’t want to use ModMenu, you may set it up directly in the config/autopath.json file.
